Perched on the 7th floor of a building in Yokohama's Tatsutamachi district, RockBar Howling Castle has been a self-described "playground for adults who love instruments, hard rock and heavy metal" since 2016. The room is wired for serious sound, with a 12-channel mixer, a heavyweight power amp and full-range speakers, plus a 100-inch screen and house guitars and bass amps ready for anyone who wants to plug in. Genres stretch beyond metal to blues, jazz and even acoustic instrument nights, and the owner also handles guitar repairs by appointment.
